Maharaja's Express: The most expensive train in India...!

Operating since January 2010, Maharajas' Express is the newest luxury train of Indian Railways and easily one of the most expensive in Asia. For eight days, this pan India train takes guests on a ride across the best and the most prominent destinations of the country—the Taj Mahal, the Khajuraho temples, wildlife environs of Ranthambore, Fatehpur Sikri and the holy bathing ghats of Varanasi. The cheapest rate per person per day is a whopping US$ 800 for a deluxe cabin. The next two slabs are US$ 900 and US$ 1,400, and the presidential suite comes for US$ 2,500.

This train is solely owned by Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). The tour is being promoted as 'luxury travel like no other' and not without reason. Maharajas' Express will have 88 passengers (a normal III AC coach packs in 72) living in suites fit for a prince. All food and drinks are complimentary.

The train comprises 24 carriages, which include accommodation, dining, bar, lounge, generator and store cars. Each guest carriage has been designed to recreate the opulence of maharaja-style living. Elegantly decorated, the interiors of the cabin exude the finesse of exquisite workmanship. Sylvan parquets, intricate carvings and palette of soft hues characterise the interiors of the train. All cabins have individual temperature control, LCD television sets, DVD players, direct dial telephones, internet, even live television and electronic safe-deposit box.

Carriages are fitted with panoramic windows to offer the vista of rolling landscape as train travels through some of the most fascinating landscapes and countryside of India. The train also has an observation lounge called the 'Rajah Club' with a private bar. Besides these cars, the train also has two elegantly appointed dining cars that offer an array of sumptuous cuisines to guests. The bar of the train serves an eclectic mix of wines from across the world in a serene and relaxing ambience. 8 Bizarre Facts About The Bermuda Triangle!

Bermuda triangle is of course famous across the globe for the tales of various ships and planes mysteriously vanishing. Ever wondered what could be the reason behind such weird behavior at this stretch of the sea? Well, these could be the reasons.

1. Christopher Columbus
The famous explorer was one of the first few people to notice weird occurrences at this stretch of the sea. During one of his voyages, Columbus noticed few lights in the region, with their source still remaining a mystery. Even his compass behaved in a weird manner and behaved in a way it never did before.

2. Compass Readings
It’s being claimed that the navigation compass never directs sailors in the right path once they reach the Bermuda triangle stretch. The compass always points towards the true north, and not the magnetic north in this region. Thus, it could be one of the reasons why dozens of ships have gone missing from this part of the sea.

3. Gulf Stream-Debris
Another famous theory is that the currents of the Gulf Stream, adjoining the region washes off any debris which lies trapped under the water surface, leaving no trace of any devastation.

4. Methane Gas
According to researchers, this part of the ocean has huge deposits of methane gas under water. Methane has the ability to reduce the density of water, and sink even huge vessels which are floating on the water surface. This could also be a possible reason for many vessels to go missing without a trace.

5. UFO Sightings
Another belief which is being claimed by many is the presence of aliens and UFO. Its being said that the huge trench under the sea has been caused by an alien spaceship which landed here. Many scientists are also of the opinion that since aliens could be more scientifically advanced, they may have captured all the ships and planes in this region.

6. Waves And Ever Changing Weather
The weather near the Bermuda stretch is really unpredictable. Intense sea storms are quite common in the region. Hurricanes occurring here are known to be so violent that they even suck flying objects, which could be a reason why planes have also     mysteriously disappeared from the reason.

7. Lost Atlantis
If few historic artifacts are anything to go by, then there’s a city which lies buried under     the sea at the Bermuda Triangle. This ancient city, known as ‘Atlantis’ apparently had high energy crystals in great abundance. It’s being said that the energy emitted by these crystals could possibly be the reason behind the weird readings given by navigation compasses.

8. Comet Crash
Many scientists also believe that around 11,000 years ago, had crashed into the Bermuda triangle region. This comet is said to be the cause behind the deep trench in the sea. The comet also emitted harmful radiations which has been the reason behind dysfunctional compasses, missing aircrafts, and ships.

9. Flight 19
Of the many disappearances which have occurred in the region, the most shocking one was that   of ‘Flight 19′. In 1945, 5 American bomber aircrafts which flew over the dreaded stretch mysteriously disappeared. A rescue plane which was sent to find the whereabouts of these aircrafts is also said to have vanished in thin air.

10. Crystal Pyramids
According to few deep sea explorers from France and U.S, two giant crystal pyramids are lying deep under the waters of the Bermuda Triangle. These structures, which were first found by a doctor in the 1960’s, are said to be even bigger than the pyramids of Egypt.

‪Tongue‬ helps in diagnosing 14 illnesses

Indian researchers have developed a new diagnostic system that can identify illnesses from digitised image of the patient's tongue. The system is of particular use for people residing in remote areas as they do not have ready access to physicians. The tool involves soft inputs such as standard questions about symptoms and a digitised image of the patient's tongue.

"The approach basically includes a combination of soft and hard inputs. Soft inputs include a variety of common symptoms such as fever, headache and cough. Each selected disease corresponds to a variety of general symptoms," said Karthik Ramamurthy from Rajalakshmi Engineering College in Chennai. "Hard inputs include images of the tongue as it is widely used by the doctor to diagnose the various disorders," Ramamurthy, who devised the system, added.

The analysis of these inputs are then fed to a neural network or computational model. The neural network is trained with four different algorithms and the image is analysed. The digitised image of the patient's tongue could reveal discolouration, engorgement, texture and other factors that might be linked to illness.

Smoothness and "beefiness" might reveal vitamin B12, iron, or folate deficiency, and lead to anaemia. Black discolouration could be indicative of fungal overgrowth in HIV patients or prolonged antibiotic use. Longitudinal furrows on the tongue are associated with syphilis. Ulcers may indicate the presence of Crohn's disease or colitis and various other conditions.

The current system diagnoses 14 conditions but they hope to increase the number. The study appeared in the International Journal of Biomedical Engineering and Technology.
